Bryan has lost a popular family restaurant that boasted an even more popular buffet but former owners Pam and David Winners are looking forward to a long summer vacation.
The temporary shut down of Myroâs Pizza Bistro, at 336 W. High St., since early September is now permanent and the building has been sold. Pam Winners confirmed the sale of the building, to Carlos Magana, who owns El Mariachiâs Mexican Restaurant and Bar at 1260 S. Main St., in a phone interview Friday afternoon.
âUnfortunately, the world of buffet restaurants is a thing of the past,â Winners said.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, âPeople are scared to go out and eat and the restrictions are so limited. Itâs just impossible,â Winners said. âTo be successful, someone has to go in and make something other than a buffet. We canât. We put everything we had into making it work.â
AeroVironment Inc. this week announced it has acquired Telerob, a German company that makes remote-controlled ground robots and intelligent robotics systems.
AeroVironment, a manufacturer of unmanned aircraft in Simi Valley, has agreed to pay $45.4 million as well as to pay off $9.4 million of Telerob’s debt at closing. There is an additional earn-out option for Telerob’s primary shareholder that could total $7.3 million over the next three years if the company achieves specific milestones.
The deal was announced Tuesday. The acquired company is officially named Telerob Gesellschaft für Fernhantierungstechnik mbH.
AeroVironment Chief Executive Wahid Nawabi said Telerob’s advanced ground robotics compliment AeroVironment’s suite of tactical unmanned aircraft and missile systems and will help expand the services both companies can offer to customers.
