Ventura man sentenced to six years in prison for killing Ventura County jail inmate Megan Diskin, Ventura County Star © CONTRIBUTED PHOTO/VENTURA COUNTY SHERIFF S OFFICE Daniel Luis Fuller A Ventura County jail inmate was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday for killing a fellow inmate.  Daniel Fuller, 36, of Ventura, pleaded guilty in October to involuntary manslaughter for the Sept. 11, 2018, killing of Jeffrey Kibler, 53 of Ventura, according to the Ventura County District Attorney s Office.  Kibler and Fuller were being housed in the same housing unit of the jail, said Senior Deputy District Attorney Melissa Suttner. Fuller and other inmates did not want Kibler in the quad with them so Fuller confronted Kibler one day, Suttner said.

CA: Ventura County Firefighter Pleads Guilty to Fraud Charges

Totten announced today that Perry Adam Lieber (DOB 04/23/86), of Santa Barbara, pled guilty to felony workers compensation fraud under Insurance Code section 1871.4(a), admitting a special allegation that the theft totaled more than $100,000 in losses to the victims. During his guilty plea, Lieber admitted making false and material misrepresentations for the purpose of obtaining disability benefits to which he was not entitled during his workers compensation claim. Victim agencies York Risk Services and the County of Ventura are alleged to have sustained losses of approximately $148,177. The maximum penalty for a violation of Insurance Code 1871.4(a) is five years in jail, as well as a fine of up to double the amount of fraud, or approximately $296,354.
