A team from the NSG s Bomb Data Centre - which collects, collates and evaluates all terrorist-related bombings in India and abroad - will analyse fragments of the IED (improvised explosive device) that was detonated outside the Israeli embassy in central Delhi on Friday evening.
The NSG team visited the blast site today to collect these fragments. Forensics teams had earlier found evidence that ammonium nitrate was used in the IED; this appears to rule out the presence of RDX, sources said, explaining that the blast impact would have been larger in that case.
The bomb that detonated outside the Israeli embassy in Delhi on Friday, Jan. 29, was more sophisticated than first assumed. Local police bomb disposal experts found a timer battery and remains of of high grade explosives, most likely PETN, although the blast caused no injuries and damaged only three cars outside the building.
India and Israel are treating the explosion as a “terrorist” incident. On Saturday, the Delhi Police asked the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to provide details of all Iranians who have arrived in New Delhi this month.

GUWAHATI: Akshay Chand Baid, one of the prime accused in the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam paper leak scam of Assam Police has been granted bail by the Gauhati High Court (GHC) on January 18.
Along with him eight accused have also been granted bail, sources said, however, the names of the people are yet to be revealed.
Akshay Chand Baid aka Akhiya is the owner of Akshay Telecommunication, the company which got a sub-contract for conducting the Police SI Recruitment Exam. He was in judicial custody since October 27, 2020.
