Mayorkas spoke with Mexicoâs Secretary of Foreign Relations Marcelo Ebrard. During the conversation, the Secretaries emphasized their shared focus on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation, agreed to work together on COVID-19 mitigation measures, and discussed deepened collaboration on the development of regional approaches to irregular migration, including through the creation of legal pathways for migrants in the region. They also expressed a mutual desire to work together to create economic opportunities across the Western Hemisphere and combat unlawful activities such as human smuggling that threaten both countriesâ national and economic security.
