When Hunter Biden revealed on Wednesday that he is the target of a federal investigation into his ‘tax affairs,’ he may have left out details of the full extent of the probe.
Federal prosecutors are also reportedly scrutinizing Biden’s foreign business dealings, especially with a Chinese energy company called CEFC.
CEFC wired millions of dollars in payments to Biden in 2017 and 2018.
A Senate report released in September said that some of the wire payments were flagged for potential criminal activity.
The investigation into Hunter Biden is more extensive than indicated in a statement he issued this week, according to multiple reports that say that federal prosecutors are scrutinizing Biden’s foreign business deals, including with one of China’s largest energy companies.

Gary Cohn, former Goldman Sachs COO, has reportedly given $10 million to charity rather than returning it to the bank, as was requested. Mr. Cohn is a team player, and as a good corporate citizen, he volunteered many weeks ago to make a significant charitable contribution to Goldman Sachs-sponsored organizations and looks forward to doing so, said a Cohn representative, according to The Financial Times.

Remarks Of CFTC Chairman Tarbert At Awards Ceremony Recognizing The Department Of Justiceâs Fraud Section Date
11/12/2020
The CFTC and the Department of Justice’s Fraud Section have had a strong historic relationship, including significant actions in the LIBOR and other benchmark areas. But I think everyone would agree that the past few years have been the high-water mark for the relationship between our organizations.
In Fiscal Year 2020, the CFTC filed the most cases in parallel with federal criminal authorities in our enforcement program’s history, tying the previous high set in 2019. During both years, many of the most significant actions were brought in parallel with the Fraud Section. But it goes beyond the number of cases filed. The substantive impact that these cases have had on the markets and the development of the law is the thing of which we are the most proud.

Even with this most turbulent year nearly at an end, we continue to lose many true greats. One of the greatest in baseball in the ‘60s and ‘70s was Richie (Dick) Allen. According to Tyler Kepner, writing in his On Baseball column in the New York Times (NYT), between 1964 through 1974,
Henry Aaron, Willie McCovey, Frank Robinson, Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Harmon Killebrew, Carl Yastrzemski, Billy Williams, Reggie Jackson “were 10 of the top 11 hitters in the major leagues in on-base plus slugging percentage, with a minimum of 1,000 games. The unlisted name is Dick Allen. He ranked second in O.P.S. for that era at .940, just one percentage point behind Aaron. Yet Allen was never inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.”
