On January 18, 2021 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the Ambassador of the European union in Belarus, Dirk Shuebel.
The interlocutors discussed the state and prospects for bilateral cooperation between Belarus and the EU. The Belarusian side noted the non-constructive nature of the restrictive measures introduced by the European Union against the Republic of Belarus, its’ individuals and legal entities, stressed the interest in developing interaction with the EU on the principles of mutual respect and good neighborliness.

Sri Lanka seeks to enhance links with Belarus

An official delegation from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus made an official visit to Belarus since Prof. M D. Lamawansa assumed duties as the Ambassador to Russia in May 2020.
The primary objective of the visit was to present the copies of the Ambassador’s Credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and to open the avenues to further enhance bilateral relationship in the fields of trade, tourism, education, defence and health.
The visit included a number of high-level meetings with political leaders, leading businessmen, rectors of prominent universities, Members of Sri Lankan Community and Sri Lankan students enrolled at universities in four different cities across Belarus.

On December 22, 2020 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, received the Charge d’Affaires of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Belarus, Meshaal Al-Attiyah.
During the meeting the parties discussed current issues of Belarusian-Qatari cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres and confirmed the mutual interest in promoting cooperation between the countries.
A particular attention was paid to the consideration of the exchange of visits of official and business delegations, as well as holding the next meeting of the Joint intergovernmental committee and consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Qatar.
