On February 9, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov.
During the conversation, topical issues of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation, as well as further interaction within the framework of integration associations and international organizations were discussed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus congratulated Sergey Lavrov and Russian colleagues on their professional holiday.

On January 28, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, took part in the meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the Member States of the CIS under the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth, which was held in Minsk at the headquarters of the CIS Executive Committee.
This year, which is marked by the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the CIS, the Republic of Belarus assumed the Presidency of the Commonwealth.
In his statement, the head of the Foreign Ministry stressed that Belarus was at the origins of the CIS creation and was actively participating in the development of the Commonwealth. Currently, the CIS is a modern regional organization and a unique dialogue platform that takes into account the interests of the member states with no alternative to it.

On December 17, 2020 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Apostolic Nuncio to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Claudio Gugerotti, who is currently on a visit to Belarus as a special envoy of Pope Francis.
The sides discussed the current international situation, topical issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, relations between Belarus and the Holy See.
The parties reaffirmed their mutual intention to intensify the Belarusian-Vatican relations in order to ensure further positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, as well as to strengthen interfaith dialogue, peace and amity.
