Ottawa (VNA) – New Consul General of Vietnam to
Vancouver (Canada) Nguyen Quang Trung had a virtual meeting with Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation Revi
Kahlon and Minister of State for Trade George Chow of British Columbia province
on April 16.
Trung highlighted the sound
cooperation in various areas between Vietnam and Canada, as well as between
Vietnam and British Columbia, in recent years, even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the pandemic’s
impacts, trade between Vietnam and the Canadian province still approximated 2

Hanoi (VNA) – Permanent
Resolution No.1, which sets leadership and management
orientations for the whole year of 2021.
The document puts forth 11 major tasks and solutions divided into nearly 200
tasks to be assigned to departments and agencies.
The delegates expressed their approval for those orientations, saying 2021 is
of significance as it marks the first year of the implementation of the
resolution to be adopted at the 13th
Some suggested assigning greater tasks to each ministry, agency and locality,
devising mechanisms to promote innovations, further ironing out snags facing
projects, and adding the initiative to plant 5 billion trees to the resolution

United Nations (UN), has reaffirmed the country’s backing
for Afghan-led peace process, including the engagement of women and youths.
Addressing a virtual UN Security Council briefing on the
Afghanistan situation and operations of the UN Assistance Mission in
Afghanistan (UNAMA) on December 17, Quy said that the continued support of
UNAMA, regional countries and other international partners will be crucial to
maintaining the momentum of peace talks in Afghanistan.
He urged all parties to fully respect international
humanitarian law, immediately stop targeting civilians and allow unhindered access

Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th-tenure Party
Central Committee (PCC) reached high consensus on
personnel work related to the
13th tenure
Politburo and PCC Secretariat during the 14th session,
which concluded on December 18 morning after nearly five working days, two days
ahead of schedule.
During this session, the Party Central Committee
discussed and reached “very high” consensus on the contents that the Politburo submitted
for adjustment to and finalisation of the draft documents to be submitted to
the 13th National Party Congress.

Hanoi (VNA) – The
Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Sharifah Norhana Syed
Mustaffa on December 17 handed over donations from the
Malaysian Government and businesses to help victims of the recent serious
flooding in Vietnam’s central region.
The
donations included 25,000 USD from the Malaysian Government, goods
worth 22,000 USD from the association of Malaysian businesses in Vietnam and
5,000 USD from Gamuda Land group.
