Baylor Scott & White Health to assist at COVID Vaccination Hub in Waco

WACO, TX â Baylor Scott & White Health announced they are working collaboratively with community leaders to administer vaccines as doses become available.
Beginning this weekend, Baylor Scott & White will assist the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District in its efforts to immunize Texans at its vaccination hub at the Waco Convention Center.
This collaboration will expand the hubâs capacity to serve more Texans, according to BS&W.
In addition to their support of the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District vaccination hub, Baylor Scott & White is reaching out to Texans who are at highest risk of severe illness from COVID-19 to schedule an appointment for the vaccine based on eligibility and supply.
LaShonda M. Malrey-Horne was selected as the new Director of Public Health Services at the Health District.

WACO, Texas The City of Waco and the Waco McLennan County Public Health District announced the selection of LaShonda M. Malrey-Horne as the new Director of Public Health Services at the Health District.
Malrey-Horne was selected from a large pool of applicants and was interviewed and unanimously approved by the McLennan County Public Health District Board made up of representatives from the participating cities in McLennan County, according to the Waco McLennan County Public Health District.
Frustrations continue to rise as COVID-19 vaccines are few and far between for some folks to find. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick hopes to change, writing a letter to the Expert Vaccination Allocation Panel on Thursday.
A free vaccination clinic, by appointment only, for people who are eligible under Phases 1A and 1B is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday next week at the Waco Convention Center. Registration opens January 17th and 18th.

WACO, TX â The 185th Grand Communications of the Grand Lodge of Texas will take place over a three-day event in Waco beginning Thursday.
Held in Waco the past 100 years, thousands of Masons will gather to discuss issues from the past year. This year, the event will continue but with only 1,000 in attendance.
On Tuesday, McLennan County hit record breaking COVID-19 case numbers with 467 new diagnoses.
Sam Cryan a Mason since 1972 and previous master of the James H. Lockwood Lodge, says they will be taking all social distancing and mask protocols.
