Waco Family Medicine successfully kept all employees through pandemic

WACO, TX â Unlike many businesses that have gone through employee furloughs and terminations, Waco Family Medicine (WFM) has done the opposite. They ve successfully worked to retain all employees through this very trying time.
WFM has 570 employees and with their size, they did not qualify for PPP funding, like many they saw significant revenue loss over the last year. However, with grant funding, philanthropy, diligent clinical work and other innovations WFM worked through a pandemic.
WFM has taken on many new roles in this pandemic, one of them being a key contributor to COVID-19 information and help.

BELL COUNTY, TEXAS â Itâs no secret getting vaccinated against COVID-19 usually means two separate appointments, weeks of waiting and one sore arm.
However, the CDC says over 5 million Americans who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine arenât completing the job and skipping out on their second dose.
âWith getting that second dose, you re really getting your immune system into top shape,â Dr. Amy Mersiovsky, director of nursing at Texas A&M University Central Texas. âTo hunt that COVID-19 down and fight it, should you come in contact with it.â
AUSTIN â After months of not having enough Covid-19 vaccines to meet demand, Texas suddenly appears to have plenty of shots but not as many people lining up to receive them, even though more than three quarters of the state still isnât fully vaccinated.
Almost 7 million Texans have been vaccinated against Covid-19 â more than 23% of the stateâs population â and health officials say they are starting to see lower demand at public vaccination sites. Recent data show reported vaccine doses have decreased: The number of people who have gotten at least one shot in Texas grew by over 1 million during the week ending April 14; the following week the number dropped to about 660,000.
