CINCINNATI â The symphony of complaints about Ohioâs handling of pandemic-related unemployment claims has struck a chord with Bridgetown musician James Martino.

HENRICO Co., Va. (WWBT) - The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) says there has been a delay in implementing the unemployment benefit programs through the âContinued Assistance to Unemployed Workers Act of 2020â.
On Jan. 6 the VEC released a general timeline for when Virginians may be able to receive these extended benefits for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation.
Legislation signed by President Trump on Dec. 27, 2020 allowed all of the CARES Act unemployment compensation programs to be extended for an additional 11 weeks through March 13, 2021.
The additional Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation payments were made available through the Continued Assistance for Unemployed Workers Act, which extends some benefits originally passed in the Coronavirus, Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020.
Some states, like Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas, won’t be able to issue additional funds from the Covid relief law to certain workers for several weeks.
