WEYAUWEGA – One person died and another was seriously injured early Wednesday morning after a crash in Waupaca County.
Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. to a one-vehicle crash on County U at Railroad Grade Road in the town of Weyauwega, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said a vehicle going north on County U went into the west ditch, drove back on the road and rolled several times.
Officials said the driver was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. A passenger was removed from the vehicle and taken to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Waupaca and transferred to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with life-threatening injuries.
WEYAUWEGA - One person died Thursday from injuries sustained in a boating accident last week on the Wolf River in Waupaca County.
Deputies responded to the boating crash around 4:20 p.m. April 6 near Gill’s Landing, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the boat was going north when it lost control and hit several trees on the shoreline. The driver was taken to ThedaCare Waupaca and transferred to ThedaCare in Neenah.
Officials said the person died Thursday of injuries from the crash. They aren’t releasing the person s identity until family has been notified.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Gold Cross Ambulance, Weyauwega Area Fire Department and the Waupaca County Medical Examiner’s Office.
