Covid-19: Sharjah students all set for onsite classes

Schools’ employees are actively seeking to get fully vaccinated and continue to remain compliant with the guidelines.
As on-campus learning resumes in Sharjah’s private schools today, parents are relieved that students have been required to present negative PCR test results to attend classes. Older pupils opting for face-to-face lessons are either taking the jab or booking appointments for their Covid tests.
Last week, the emirate’s education authorities have announced that a student above 12 years of age needs to undergo a PCR test no more than 72 hours prior to attending in-class lessons.

Dubai: Ahead of Ramadan, the United Arab Emirates on Thursday announced working hours for government employees during the holy month.
The country’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) said that the official working hours for the public sector will be from 9 am – 2 pm, except for those whose work nature requires otherwise.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources said working hours would be from 9am until 2pm.
The holy month is expected to start on April 12, but the final date will be confirmed by the UAE s Moon-sighting committee.

The Moon-sighting committee – a group of astronomers, court officials and advisers from the country s Islamic authority – typically convenes after maghrib, or sunset, prayers on the 29th day of Sha’ban to look for the new crescent moon. If they spot it, Ramadan begins the following day. If not, Sha ban will last 30 days and Ramadan will begin thereafter.
