Feng Tay will suspend its Indian factories for 10 working days to keep its employees safe, the Nike-supplier told the Taiwan stock exchange Wednesday. It follows firms including Honda Motor Co. and Suzuki Motor Corp. that have announced similar decisions in recent days.

In view of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, Maruti Suzuki India has extended the maintenance shutdown at its manufacturing plants till May 16, 2021. A similar decision has been taken by Suzuki Motor Gujarat.
While Maruti Suzuki India has manufacturing plants in Gurgaon (Haryana) and Manesar (Haryana), Suzuki Motor Gujarat s facility is located in Ahmedabad.

Toyota group, Suzuki to jointly develop small EV for Japanese market

(Mainichi) NAGOYA (Kyodo) Toyota Motor Corp., its small car subsidiary Daihatsu Motor Co. and Suzuki Motor Corp. will jointly develop a small electric vehicle for the Japanese market, sources close to the matter said Saturday. The three automakers aim to split the cost of developing the new model as it is uncertain whether owners of small cars in Japan will opt to switch to higher-priced EVs, they said. Daihatsu and Suzuki compete in the domestic market of minivehicles carrying engines of up to 660 cc, which see steady demand partly due to lower registration fees and taxes.
