Sycamore Township-based real estate company Phillips Edison is flirting with becoming the region s newest publicly-traded company. The company, which owns nearly 300 strip malls anchored by supermarkets – including Kroger – has outlined a plan to sell up to $100 million of stock. Other grocery tenants include, Walmart, Safeway, Publix, Sprouts and Stop & Shop. The company said Cincinnati-based Kroger was its top tenant, anchoring 54 properties and generating 6.6% of its rental income. Phillips Edison disclosed it has $5.3 billion in real estate assets that generated a $5.5 million profit last year on revenues of $498 million. Half its rent income comes from Sunbelt states, a quarter from the Midwest and the rest from Eastern states.
