The Conservatives polled 8800 - narrowly beating Labour into third place with 8516.
The Scottish Greens picked up 2333 votes, ahead of the Liberal Democrats on 912 and the Alba party with 629.
Returning officer Kenneth Lawrie declared the number of votes cast in the Central Scotland regional list ballot tonight (Friday) just before 7.30 pm.

However, the Falkirk East votes are just one part of the Central Scotland ballot and the full results will not be known until tomorrow when North Lanarkshire s returning officer will announce the final totals.

The ballot boxes have arrived and the counts have begun at Braehead Arena as Renfrewshire prepares to find out its new MSPs for the next parliamentary term. Voters were filing into polling stations right up until 10pm on Thursday to cast their two votes in what is being billed as the most important election in the country’s history. People can expect to discover the results of the Paisley, and Renfrewshire North and West ballots by early this evening.

The SNP’s George Adam will be hoping he can hold onto the Paisley seat for a third term in office, while his party colleague Natalie Don is the favourite to replace Derek Mackay in Renfrewshire North and West.
