By Karen Peattie SCOTTISH housebuilder Springfield Properties has commenced construction of the first phase of 114 affordable homes in Glasgow for West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA). The homes, built as part of an £18.2 million partnership with WSHA, will transform the former goods yard opposite the train station, a site that has lain vacant for about 60 years. Elgin-based Springfield is building social rented and mid-market rent homes which range in size from one to five bedrooms – the mid-market rent homes are the first of their type for WSHA. On completion, the development will feature open communal areas and flexible commercial spaces.
