Rotarians John Dawson and Chris Varley on duty at the car park at Skipton Building Society WITH Skipton ‘open for business’ following the gradual relaxation of coronavirus restrictions, the weekend charity car park off The Bailey has reopened. Skipton Rotary Club, which normally raises more than £10,000 per year for good causes through the use of the car park at the headquarters of Skipton Building Society, was only able to use the car park for three months last year. It now be open every Saturday and on Bank Holiday Mondays. Rotarian John Dawson said: “It is great that Skipton is now busy again and that we are able to re-open and provide this additional parking for our town as well as raise money for local charities. Every penny we earn goes to those good causes as the car park is manned by Skipton Rotary members who volunteer each week. We know it has been a difficult time for charities and so we welcome applications for grants.”
