ORWIGSBURG â A Palo Alto man is headed to Schuylkill County Court on charges he assaulted and threatened another man in November at a supermarket.
Michael F. Burke, 59, of 4 W. Bacon St., faces charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over all charges for court after Burke waived his right to the hearing.
State police at Schuylkill Haven alleged Burke threatened to shoot Edward Yeneshosky at 8:05 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Giant supermarket at Cressona Mall, 1544 Route 61, in North Manheim Township.
âIâll blow your Thanksgiving head off,â is what Burke said, according to police.
Schuylkill County District Attorney Michael A. OâPake has decided to seek the death penalty for a man charged with stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death on the front porch of a Shenandoah home in August.
Nathaniel Joseph Kimmel, 22, of 12 N. Richard St., Girardville, is scheduled for trial in Schuylkill County Court in 2021, charged with killing April M. Mahmod, 37, of 106 S. Catherine St., Shenandoah.
State police Trooper Shawn Tray of the Frackville station charged Kimmel with one felony count each of criminal homicide, burglary and criminal trespass; two felony counts of aggravated assault; and one misdemeanor count each of possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, simple assault with a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

POTTSVILLE â A Pottsville man charged with assaulting a registered nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill S. Jackson Street on Sept. 22 appeared for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley.
Cornell B. Randall, 18, of 820 Mahantongo St., was arrested by Pottsville police Patrolman Anna Flail and charged with one count each of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
Prosecutors withdrew the charge of aggravated assault and Randall waived the remaining offenses to Schuylkill County Court, where he can plead guilty or enter a not guilty plea and request a trial.
Flail charged Randall with assaulting nurse John Bubnis while being placed in restraints in the seclusion room.
