Vietnam is implementing a National Strategy for Green Growth and a National Green Growth Action Plan; with both initiatives backed by the financial sectorâs action plan to implement the national strategy for green growth.
In Singapore, the Monetary Authority of Singapore announced a Green Finance Action Plan in November 2019 to make green finance a defining feature of the financial sector.
In Brunei, the government issued its Blueprint 2016-2025, with the goal of developing Islamic fund management credentials and promoting investment along the sustainable, responsible, and impact criteria.
The Securities and Exchange Commission in Thailand established a committee and a working group relating to sustainable finance in 2019 to engage representatives from various stakeholders, including the Stock Exchange of Thailand, government agencies, and industry associations.

Thai-listed companies achieved the highest average score in the 2019 Asean CG Scorecard (ACGS) for the sixth consecutive year, making up the majority of the Asean Asset Class Award recipients, said Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol, secretary-general at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The Asean CG Scorecard is aimed at raising international visibility among Asean public-listed companies (PLCs) with outstanding corporate governance (CG) practices, comprising of three categories, namely Asean Asset Class PLCs , Asean Top 20 PLCs, and Country Top 3 PLCs.
Ms Ruevadee said Thai-listed companies occupied the majority of recipients by constituting 42 of 135 companies in the Asean Asset Class PLCs, which awards only companies scoring at least 97.50.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) today announced the SET Awards 2020 winners at a prestigious awards ceremony, in which the Best CEO Award of SET-listed companies was bestowed to Sathien Setthasit, Chief Executive Officer of Carabao Group pcl; and the Best CEO Award of mai-listed firms was presented to Maetup T. Suwan, Managing Director of After You pcl. In addition, Itthipat Peeradechapan, Chief Executive Officer of Taokaenoi Food & Marketing pcl won this year’s Young Rising Star CEO Award, while Somboon Advance Technology pcl was recognized for the SET Award of Honor for the second consecutive year.

TQM Corporation takes pride in always being prepared, which has paid off during the pandemic.
TQM is the only SET-listed holding company that has insurance brokerage services as its business core. Its market capitalisation is more than 35 billion baht, exceeding other insurance companies. Its growth has accelerated as demand increases for Covid-19 insurance and innovative products that earned the company 460 million baht in insurance premiums in the first half of 2020.
The company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) at the end of December 2018, with the IPO listing at 23 baht for 300 million shares. Its market capitalisation that day was 6.9 billion baht.
