Firefighters pulled Jaynes from the bathroom of an apartment on Cardinal Court about 5 p.m. Jan. 17 after someone called 911 to report smoke coming from an apartment building. She was unconscious. FSU police initially tried to get into the apartment, as firefighters were headed to the scene, but could not because the door was obstructed.

1 hospitalized after crash in Mecosta Co. and last updated 2020-12-12 01:16:49-05 MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle flipped near the intersection of Northland Dr. and Filmore St. around 11:40 p.m. Friday night. Mecosta County Sheriff s deputies found the vehicle overturned, which was caused by both passenger side tires coming off the vehicle. The driver, a Newaygo County resident, was taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids, where they are expected to be ok.
