SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. Washington state is sitting at 60.31 percent of all people 16 years and older with at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot, a little less than 10 percent short of Governor Jay Inslee s benchmark to reopen before June 30.
Spokane Interim Health Officer Dr. Francisco Velazquez said he is hopeful the state can reach that goal before the end of June, even if Spokane County doesn t hit the 70 percent mark by then.

Spokane Interim Health Officer Dr. Francisco Velazquez said on Monday that it will take several weeks for the trends to change in the right direction. If you think about it, we have trended in the wrong direction for quite some time, he said. Although we saw a slight improvement for about a week, but we just spiked up again. So, it will probably take us a few weeks to get back to the rates that are required for phase three.

SPOKANE, Wash. A fourth wave of COVID-19 has hit Washington state, Gov. Jay Inslee said on Thursday, potentially sending more counties back to Phase 2 of reopening including Spokane County.
Spokane County has exceeded both metrics it needs to stay under for remaining in Phase 3 of the Healthy Washington reopening plan, according to data provided by the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) on Tuesday, April 20.
