SPOKANE, Wash.– The Spokane Arena mass vaccination site will now be hosting “Vaccination Happy Hours” events In May and June.
“Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine should be celebrated,” said Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) Interim Health Officer, Dr. Francisco Velazquez. “With the vaccine readily available, we now have the tool we need to fight the virus, keep our friends and family healthy, and return to a normal life.”

SPOKANE, Wash. The Spokane Regional Health District board issued a statement in response to the preliminary report that health administrator Amelia Clark illegally fired Dr. Bob Lutz.
The report found Clark “refused or neglected to obey or enforce” state requirements that forbid the removal of a local health officer until after notice is given, and an opportunity for a hearing before the board.
The Health District has declined to answer questions, directing them instead to their legal counsel, but board chair Mary Kuney issued the following statement:
“To be clear, the SRHD Board, as stipulated by Washington law, and only the SRHD Board, terminated the employment of Dr. Bob Lutz with SRHD. Dr. Lutz could not have been terminated on October 29, because he continued to receive his full pay and benefits until termination by the SRHD Board on November 5, 2020. He was placed on administrat
