COLOMBO - Sri Lanka s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who also serves as minister of finance, was on Wednesday elected chair of the Asian Development Bank s (ADB) Board of Governors for the year 2021/2022 during the bank s 54th annual meeting held virtually, a statement from Rajapaksa s office said.
During the meeting, Rajapaksa informed the fellow governors that amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, the time was now right for countries to reflect and re-group as this century was the Asian Century.

Colombo, April 30 (South Asian Monitor): Sri Lanka and China vowed on Wednesday to enhance pragmatic cooperation in all sectors between the two countries, including the military, China’s official agency Xinhua reported.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay called on Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday (29) where matters of mutual interest were discussed, sources said.
According to the Indian High Commission, the High Commissioner thanked the Sri Lankan leadership for their solidarity with India, especially at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He sought the guidance of the PM in taking bilateral relations in all spheres with even greater momentum, said the High Commission.
