Colombo (News 1st); It’s exactly one year since the first COVID-19 case was detected in Sri Lanka.
On January 25th, 2020 two people including a Chinese woman were admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital on suspicion they were infected by the Coronavirus.
On January 27th, 2020 Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry confirmed the 43-year-old Chinese woman from Hubei province in China tested positive for the coronavirus.
Since then Sri Lanka recorded 58,430 confirmed COVID-19 cases and over the course of one year, 49,684 people have recovered.
