Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the state of New Jersey, Hudson County will pause administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine out of an abundance of caution. Currently, the CDC and FDA are reviewing data involving six reported U.S. cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the J&J vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccination site to open at Korpi Ice Rink

2 / 4 3 / 4 4 / 4 ❮ ❯ Beginning on April 15, Bayonne will open another COVID-19 vaccination site at the Korpi Ice Rink behind Bayonne High School, according to Mayor James Davis. The city has been expanding its vaccination program in recent weeks as it receives more doses and more residents become eligible. “Over the last several weeks, we’ve added the Bayonne Museum as a second site,” Davis said. “Well, that location has outgrown itself.” According to Davis, this site is better suited to handle the large volume of residents who will be inoculated in the coming weeks. “With the fast paced changes of eligibility, our city is adapting quickly,” Davis said, noting the new site will offer the Moderna vaccine.

Eligible residents have options for the COVID-19 vaccine in Weehawken × Weehawkenites have multiple locations to get different COVID-19 vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues in Weehawken, with a number of options for residents to get inoculated, according to a virus update by the township. The township has been administering doses to eligible residents at a joint site with Union City and the North Hudson Community Action Corp. To register for an appointment, go to northhudsonvax.us/weehawken. As of March 26, 2,300 eligible residents have been vaccinated through the township’s program, including 60 home bound vaccinations. This figure does not include those vaccinated at other locations.
