Dressed in a grey tear-resistant gown and sporting bare feet, a 42-year-old man – granted name suppression by Justice of the Peace Allan Sainsbury on Monday morning – made a brief appearance at Hutt Valley District Court, charged with the woman’s murder on Saturday night.
A resource consent was granted last August. Hutt City Council head of environmental consents Derek Kerite said the successful prosecution was the only one the council had undertaken.
