Honeywell Acquires Sparta Systems, for $1.3 Billion
Honeywell (NYSE: HON) is to acquire Sparta Systems, a provider of enterprise quality management software (QMS), for $1.3 billion in an all-cash transaction from New Mountain Capital.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2021 and is subject to certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
Led by Dana Jones, chief executive officer, Sparta Systems is a provider of enterprise quality management software (QMS), including a next-generation SaaS platform, for the life sciences industry. Headquartered in Hamilton, N.J., the company has approximately 250 employees globally. Sparta serves more than 400 customers, including 42 of the world’s top 50 pharma companies and 33 of the top 50 medical device companies.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Sine’s technologies will support a cloud-based mobile platform for Honeywell Forge, Honeywell’s enterprise performance management offering, and Sine’s software will augment Honeywell’s Connected Buildings offerings with expanded safety, security and compliance capabilities.
Honeywell will also expand on Sine’s features and solutions and make Sine’s offerings available to more customers, globally.
