HOUSTON A woman is suing Harris County after she was injured on a broken chair at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston.  Louvenia Johnson filed a complaint April 5 in Harris County District Court against Harris County Texas alleging negligence and premises liability.  Johnson was at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center in Houston on April 17, 2019, according to her complaint. She alleges she was sitting in a metal chair in the hallway outside of a court when the chair went back and hit a wall.  Johnson claims she suffered significant physical and debilitating injuries as a result of the defective chair and that the defendant failed to check the assembled chairs which posed an unreasonably dangerous condition.
