HOUSTON – A heated exchange with a Home Depot employee somehow escalated when a spouse of that employee threatened a customer, who was trying to return an item, with a gun, according to a recently filed lawsuit.
Seeking damages for his mental anguish, Robert Edwards filed suit against Home Depot on Dec. 14 in Harris County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 29 Edwards attempted to return an item at a Home Depot in Katy. While speaking with a customer service employee, he requested to speak to a manager. While waiting, the employee allegedly began arguing with him about returning the item.

HOUSTON – A woman has claimed she underwent unnecessary cancer treatments and removal of several organs including a healthy kidney she was going to donate to her sister after a Houston pathologist s alleged misdiagnosis.
Glenea Licona filed a
complaint Dec. 10 in Harris County District Court against Dr. Susan Haley, THM Physician Organization doing business as Methodist Speciality Physician Group, TMH Physician Associates PLLC, alleging medical malpractice.

HOUSTON – A man who entered Bud’s House of Meats to purchase some barbeque allegedly slipped on some BBQ sauce two years ago.
On Dec. 14, Robert and Stephanie Lewis filed suit against the restaurant, along with owners Henry and Twila Adair, in Harris County District Court, seeking $100,000 in damages.
According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 15, 2018, Robert entered the restaurant to purchase some BBQ when slipped on barbeque sauce and “other slippery substances” on the floor.
The suit accuses the defendants of negligently failing to maintain the floor area.
The plaintiffs are suing for medical expenses.
Missouri City attorneys Richard Howard and Ramond Howard represents them.
Leroy Priestley filed the suit on Dec. 10 in Harris County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 14 Priestley, a Patriot Security employee, was patrolling a Best Western when he fell into an uncovered drainage hole.
The plaintiff claims there were no warnings signs present at the alleged dangerous condition.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, impairment, lost wages and disfigurement.

HOUSTON – A man claimed he suffered injuries after falling over a crack in the sidewalk alongside an AM Mini Mart gas station in Houston.
Jeremey Humphry filed a
complaint on Dec. 10 in Harris County District Court against Sydni Inc., doing business as AM Mini Mart, alleging premises liability and negligence.
Humphry alleged in the
complaint that he suffered personal injuries on Nov. 11, 2020, when he was walking on the sidewalk along the AM Mini Mart gas station located on Homestead Road in Houston, and tripped and fell on a large crack on the concrete. Specifically, Humphry claimed he suffered injuries to his back, right hip, left hip, left foot and other parts of his body; and that there were no warning or caution signs posted in the area.
