A child died early Sunday in a Houston crash involving a suspected intoxicated driver, according to the Houston Police Department.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Southwest Freeway in reference to the crash.
Police said a silver BMW and a maroon Nissan collided at the intersection of the Southwest Freeway service road and Fountain View Drive. The impact caused the Nissan to roll over. Investigators said they suspect the BMW ran a red light at the intersection and struck the Nissan, said Chuck Cornelius, an investigator with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
Good Samaritans helped police arrest a suspected intoxicated driver who allegedly caused a deadly rollover crash that killed a 5-year-old. HOUSTON – The family of Josue Flores said they’re still waiting on answers in the case nearly five years later.
The family is demanding answers from local officials Friday afternoon after they say the case has been stalled out for years.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office released the following statement regarding the family’s request for answers:
“This case is incredibly important to us. We will never forget young Josue and we remain focused on delivering justice for his family, friends and the community. Unfortunately, the pandemic has caused trial delays nationwide.” Dane Schiller, HCDAO said.
