A 28-year-old Katy man was charged after deputies stopped him outside a Washington Avenue nightclub with an AR-15 assault rifle.
According to court records, David Mena, Jr. got into a fight with someone at Heart nightclub Sunday night. When he was escorted out, he threatened to go get a gun and return to shoot, according to investigators.
Court records obtained by Eyewitness News on Tuesday state an unnamed witness took him home and then refused to give him a ride back when he walked out with an AR-15.

An innocent woman died Wednesday morning on the Westpark Tollway in a wrong-way crash involving a highly intoxicated driver, authorities said.
It happened in the inbound lanes near Dunvale just after 2 a.m. From the looks of the damage, I m going to confirm this is a wrong-way driver crash, a first responder could be heard saying on radio scanner traffic. Can we get with HPD to see if they have any 911 calls on wrong-way drivers? Maybe we can establish where this car came from.

Authorities investigate a deadly crash on the Westpark Tollway.
HOUSTON - Authorities say one person is dead and three are in critical condition after a wrong-way crash on the Westpark Tollway.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near Hillcroft around 2:12 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the Harris County Pct. 5 Constable’s Office, four people were in one of the cars. A passenger in that car is dead and the three other occupants were taken to the hospital.
The constable’s office says the driver who struck that vehicle was driving the wrong way on the Westpark Tollway. Authorities say the driver of that vehicle has signs of intoxication and will be charged with intoxication manslaughter. He was also taken to the hospital.

A Houston woman took out two life insurance policies on her 6-year-old son before giving him lethal doses of medications and over the counter drugs that caused him frightening hallucinations before he died, prosecutors said Thursday.
Prosecutors with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office allege that Ashley Marks repeatedly drugged her son in June.
Marks, 25, has been charged with capital murder and was being held without bond. Court records did not list an attorney for her. Ashley Marks had taken out two life insurance policies, each worth $50,000, for her son and she was the sole beneficiary, investigators said in court documents.
