The offences are alleged to have taken place in 2018, when he was a student at Harper Adams University, near Newport. A jury was sworn in at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday and then heard evidence from the complainant under Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) protocols for vulnerable witnesses.

Lynfa Jones THE Welsh Black Cattle Society has announced the appointment of Lynfa Jones as the new breed secretary. Lynfa, who is currently Dyffryn Banw YFC’s secretary, will be working for the society full time from the Builth Wells office on the showground and from home. A farmer’s daughter, Lynfa graduated from Harper Adams University with a degree in Agri-Food Marketing with Business Studies. She moves from her role as marketing assistant for a machinery dealer where she gained valuable experience but responded at once to the vacancy with the society as her long-term goal has always been to work within the livestock sector.

>More in © Harper Adams University Harper Adams university is planning to create the UK’s first school of sustainable food and farming, to help UK agriculture reach net-zero carbon emissions. Research will be used to develop sustainability advice and guidance for farmers. The research will initially include livestock breed choice, diet composition, yield improvement, agriculture building design, on-farm renewable energy, precision farming and sensors and data use. Morrisons supermarket and sustainable farming research company Raft Solutions are working with the university on the project. Michael Lee, Harper Adams deputy vice-chancellor, said: “The initial targets will be centered on how to achieve net-zero UK agriculture. However, the ambition of the school will include wider aspects of sustainability including biodiversity, animal welfare, rural community support, green energy production and farm profitability.”
