LAKETOWN TWP. The line between the Holland and Hamilton school districts is set to shift to make way for home construction.
The agreement is to move approximately 1.16 acres of undeveloped land from Holland Public Schools to Hamilton Community Schools.
School boards from the districts recently approved the property transfer agreement; now it awaits approval from the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.
The transfer request came from a developer looking to build homes on four lots on 146th Street in Laketown Township. Developers redrew the lot lines to make each the same size, which resulted in one lot being split between Hamilton and Holland, with the majority being in Hamilton.
