DELHI – Norfolk County has formalized its long-standing relationship with a seniors complex in Delhi by transferring the property to the Haldimand-Norfolk Housing Corporation.
Del Gold Villa on William Street is a 25-unit apartment complex built nearly 40 years ago. It was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Delhi and federally funded until 2014. Rent on some units is pegged at market rates while other units are rent-geared-to-income.

COVID-19 Outbreaks Declared at Russell Reid Public School and McKinnon Park Secondary School

Brantford, Ont. – The Brant County Health Unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Russell Reid Public School in Brantford and the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at McKinnon Park Secondary School in Caledonia Tuesday April 6.
The Ministry of Education’s Operational Guidance defines an outbreak as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school.
News of the second COVID-19 case at Russell Reid came on April 6. The first case was identified on April 5. News of the second COVID-19 case at McKinnon Park came on April 3. The first case was identified on April 2.
A worker employed at a Simcoe area farm operation has tested positive for COVID-19.
“This seasonal agricultural worker received a positive result from the COVID-19 test performed at the airport upon arrival in Canada,” said a media release issued by Kichler Bros. Inc. on April 2.

The worker is showing no signs or symptoms, said the release.
The farm operation is working with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit.
“We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure that we care for the man, prevent any spread and resolve the outbreak in a timely manner.”
