Chesterfield TM to vote on museum repairs, expanded telecom buffer

CHESTERFIELD – Voters will tackle a variety of topics at Saturday’s annual Town Meeting, including a proposal to establish a buffer between telecommunications facilities and the Historic District, plus three articles on funding repairs to the Edwards Museum.
The Town Meeting will take place on the grounds of New Hingham Regional Elementary School starting at 9 a.m. Voters will take action on a 22-article warrant, which includes the annual budget.
In notable articles, Article 2 would transfer $5,200 from free cash for a new website for the town. A note from the Select Board on the article asserts that the town website “has many issues and the platform is outdated.” It also says that the town’s IT consultant recommended replacing the site.

GOSHEN The Goshen Select Board is backing an effort by a Chesterfield resident to get teachers and staff at New Hingham Regional Elementary School vaccinated on an earlier schedule.
The board voted unanimously to send a letter to local legislators in support of advancing the COVID-19 vaccination schedule for in-person teachers and staff. New Hingham Regional Elementary School has been educating students fully in-person since October.

CHESTERFIELD The Select Board has agreed to back an effort to get teachers and staff at New Hingham Regional Elementary School vaccinated against COVID-19 during the Phase 1 rollout.
The elementary school, which serves both Chesterfield and Goshen, has been teaching students full time and in person since October. As such, Chesterfield-Goshen Regional School Committee Member Geoffrey Gougeon has launched an effort to allow staff and teachers to be given the vaccine alongside first responders, who are currently being vaccinated.
