Picture used for representational purpose only GUWAHATI: Altogether 15 people were killed and 19 shot at and injured in police firing ever since the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government took charge in Assam two months ago. Of the 15 killed, 10 were militants. On Friday, another alleged drug peddler was shot at in central Assam’s Morigaon district while trying to escape from police custody. While 24 people (five of them later died) accused in different cases, including rape, murder, drug peddling, cattle smuggling, dacoity and so on, who were shot at by the police while trying to escape from custody, 10 militants of Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA), United People’s Revolutionary Front (UPRF) and National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) were killed in the past two months.
