Despite the economic uncertainty and challenges weâve faced as a result of the pandemic, there are signs that our stateâs economy continues to come back strong.
Indiana had one of the best recoveries in the nation. Our economy grew at a 22.7 percent annual rate, making us tied for the 4th best economic growth in the country.
In addition, after Indianaâs unemployment rate hit a staggering 17.5 percent in April 2020, the latest jobs report shows our stateâs unemployment rate is now back down to 4 percent and lower than the national rate of 6.2 percent. We have not yet recovered all the jobs lost since last spring, but we have seen great improvement.
