RICHMOND, Va. Many COVID-19 vaccine clinics scheduled for Thursdays are closing down for the day due to an expected ice storm. Richmond and Henrico Health Districts are closing some COVID-19 vaccination clinics due to weather in the coming days, Richmond and Henrico Health Districts spokesperson Cat Long wrote in an email. Folks should reference our website to know when their appointment is rescheduled and what to do next. We expect we will get everyone with a canceled appointment vaccinated within one week from their original appointment date.

RICHMOND, Va. Thousands of people with appointments to get their COVID-19 vaccine Friday or Saturday have had their appointment canceled due to winter weather.

The program, now in its second week, is using a mobile vaccination unit to visit estimated 50-such facilities. Officials said it had split the ILFs into three tiers in order of priority:
The first tier was for those living in government housing
The second for those on Medicare and Medicaid
The third for those with adequate insurance
Wednesday, the mobile unit was at Heritage Oaks Senior Living vaccinating dozens of residents and staff members.
