Robber, ex-convict jailed 39 years for robbery and rape

+ Prince Adu a.k.a Dracula, 27, a notorious armed robber and an ex-convict has been caged again for 39 years imprisonment in hard labour for robbery and rape. Dracula, who was involved in two different robberies in the Ho Municipality and was charged with robbery, pleaded guilty and was convicted on his plea. The Court sentenced him to 21 and 18 years for the two robbery incidents, suming up to 39 years with the sentences to run concurrently. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Stephen Atidzon told the Court presided over by Mr Felix Datsomor that, Dracula attacked an Immigration officer around KK House traffic light when he was travelling to Accra for duties and threatening him with a dummy corked gun on February 18, this year.

The Ho Technical University has empowered its lecturers to deny access to indecently and provocatively dressed students. The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, at its 28th Matriculation Ceremony on Thursday, said the University sought to maintain its reputation of decency and respect for the benefit of students and would continue to forbid “all acts of gross indiscipline.” He said the University required students to dress suitably at all times, and also did not permit politically branded materials at lectures and official functions. “Fighting or any form of physical assault, stealing, noise-making, use of drugs and alcohol are prohibited in the University.

DTI, Mastercard Launch Precison Quality Training To Enhance Industrial & Business Growth

  The Design and Technology Institute (DTI) has launched the Precision Quality training programme, PQ, for the effective integration of young people into the world of work. The precision quality training programme was designed and developed in partnership with industry experts and has been accredited by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education Training (COTVET). The PQ programme forms part of DTI’s partnership agreement with the MasterCard Foundation.  Under this agreement, 40,000 direct and indirect work opportunities and jobs will be created for young people within the next three years.  it will be carried out through the “Transforming youth TVET livelihoods for sustainable jobs” intervention project under the Mastercard Foundation’s “Young Africa Works, (YAW)” initiative.  The project will provide training to 1000 youth in precision fabrication.
