Melbourne Police officers said the driver, identified as Matthew Ray Bragg, of Melbourne, apparently veered off the roadway and struck a tree along the wood line on the east side of Wickham Road. No one else was in the car. Bragg, who suffered severe injuries, was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
