We heard about possible lawsuits over the healthcare reform law. it falls under that supremacy clause and the 10th amendment. do you think if and when this is ruled on, this could set precedent regarding healthcare as well? >> you know, i suppose in theory its possible but i would say -- i put odds against that. this case will be decided on the narrow question of whether federal immigration law displaces states from acting in this field. i doubt the court would be attempted to get into 10th 10th...

Thats in a separate lawsuit in a federal case in florida that theyve gotten together for that. virginias case is a separate lawsuit entirely and that hearing gets underway in half an hour in federal court in richmond. virginia filed the suit the very same day that congress approved healthcare reform. the next day the governor signed a law, i believe there youre seeing the 20 states that are in the other federal lawsuit that are in federal court in florida. this one today as i said is in virginia...

Philosophically? do you think the state should provide health care for its residents? how do you respond? >> i think the states are already doing an excellent job. most changes are going on in the states. i think these problems are better solved at the state level than at the federal level all i have seen -- ive spent my whole career in the private world before i did this. bureaucracy enormously inefficient, resistant to change. i dont think the federal governments the right venue to do this for...
