breakout moment with republicans in wisconsin. >> first of all, it's very hot here. it will hit 99. the problem with eight candidates on the stage is they have 12 1/2 minutes to have the breakout moment. donald trump is not there. so i will be watching to see how effective chris christie is, who is the -- i think the ultimate political performance artist. obviously, i will be watching ron desantis. is he going to be able to be human? is he going to be able to be funny, effective? is he going to be able to turn his campaign around? i think that would be the biggest surprise of the night if he was. i think there's going to be a lot of shots aimed at vivek. he has been rising. for someone like nikki haley, it's a risk-free way of using her stilettos to go after somebody who is not part of the maga cult of personality. i think that you are going to see a lot of shots thrown at an
sexual assault charges after more than 12 hours of deliberation. nbc's ali arouzi is live with the latest. as always, good to talk to you. what more do we know about the verdict and spacey's plans now that he has been acquitted? >> reporter: it was a month long trial, yasmin, and after that month of the prosecution and the defense presenting their case, the jury took 12 1/2 hours to come to their decision, and they found him not guilty on nine charges of varying sexual assault. some of the charges more minor. some of them very serious. kevin spacey steps in the glass dock in the courtroom, and he stood there and listened to nine not guilty verdicts being read out in front of him. he became very emotional. he started crying. he nodded towards the jury as a sort of a thank you for exonerating him. he hugged his manager, his legal team, and then he came out to the waiting press.
selma is live in london. so walk us through how the jury reached this decision? >> reporter: well not easily. as you mentioned, it took several days, 12 1/2 hours. in fact, they were required to come to a unanimous decision but when it was clear to the judge that that wasn't going to take place, he lowered the bar. he said a majority decision 10 out of 12 was enough and then the jury was able to make a decision in under an hour but it shows you one or two people were holding out. look, there youout this trial, kevin spacey has maintained his innocence. this is for him a day of victory. but these were very serious charges brought against kevin spacey by four men dating back to the early 2000s, in 2010, that means some incidents are nearly two decades old. and the prosecution tried in this case to paint a picture of a kevin spacey who took

federal prison. a man named daniel rodriguez was sentenced to 12 1/2 years yesterday. he shouted, trump won, as he was sentenced according to multiple witnesses in the courtroom. rodriguez acknowledged attacking and seeing officer fanone before his sentencing but did not apologize. he insisted he believed a civil war was breaking out and he bleed guilty earlier this year to a host of charges including inflicting bodily injury to officers using a dangerous or deadly weapon. rodriguez also bragged about his crimes including his attack on officer fanone in an online chat room writing, quote, tase the "f" out of the blue. >> i mean i'll say it and i think it's been clear by the
