trial, the biggest west midlands police have dealt with. 13 in prison, four awaiting sentence, and four more convicted of less serious offences have been given non custodial offences. i really can t go into the detail of what the crimes were, because they are just so horrific. in fact, west midlands police have described this as a case of shocking and systematic abuse. it first came to light following a hospital admission by one of the young victims, they were all aged 12 years and under, and in that case, safeguarding concerns were raised, that led to a much wider investigation, which ultimately led to the series of trials which have gone on over the last year or so. walsall safeguarding children s board is expected to publish a review in the coming months, and thatis review in the coming months, and that is to really look at whether there had been missed opportunities in this case, and whether or not interventions could have been made sooner. some of the victims who are now
