Dentsu Group President and CEO Hiroshi Igarashi admitted to prosecutors that his company was responsible for rigging bids over contracts to plan and test events before the Games.
Dentsu President Hiroshi Igarashi made the comments during questioning by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office, NHK said Saturday, citing a source it did not name.
The arrest of four more people last week has shaken the Japanese Olympic Committee and dealt a further blow to Sapporo’s quest to host the 2030 Winter Games.
The move by the prefecture comes as a former executive of the advertising agency was arrested earlier this week in a bid-rigging scandal involving contracts linked to the Tokyo Games.
