4.0 lifter replacement So, starting to think about replacing all my lifters. When I start in the morning I'm getting pretty bad clatter from one or two, then after it warms up it quiets down quit a bit.
I've had the pan off, and I don't suspect piston slap because there is no chafing in the cylinders, and as I turned it over by hand I didn't see the pistons rocking.
When I pull the head, do I just unbolt the exhaust and pull the whole thing? Or do I pull the manifolds? I will be doing this by myself, so not sure of the weight of the whole assembly, not looking to pull a nut.
