Detached houses made up 58.4pc of all homes owned outright and 48pc of those under mortgage. Semi-detached houses made up 24pc of homes owned outright and 32pc of those mortgaged.
Mayo had the highest proportion of households who owned their home outright, at 46.7pc. The national average was 36pc.
