Lynn s Coaching Tree Doubles In One Week - Focus Daily News

Focus Daily News Share via: ‘His Own Coaching Tree’ (CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) Carlos Lynn was the defensive coordinator on the first-ever Cedar Hill High School State Football Championship Team in 2006. A relatively new school located 13.5 miles northwest, across Joe Pool Lake, noticed Lynn’s talents and hired him as the head coach of Arlington Seguin High School, where he coached for a decade. Lynn had worked on the staffs of Robert Woods (who was his high school coach at Wilmer-Hutchins) and Joey McGuire. Now, Lynn – who just completed his fourth season at Cedar Hill with a trip to the UIL Class 6A Division II State Championship Game – has his own coaching tree. And it has tripled in size this week.

Cedar Hill Kicker, Jadon Cardell, Is Prepared For Championship Moment

Cedar Hill Kicker, Jadon Cardell, Is Prepared For Championship Moment (CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) Jadon Cardell runs the scenario through his mind on a regular basis. The Longhorns are tied, or trailing by a point or two, and it’s fourth down at the homefield of the Dallas Cowboys. There are five seconds or less in the game, and the only thing standing between the Cedar Hill High School Football Team’s fourth state championship is a field goal sailing through the uprights. “I embrace it,” said Cardell, a senior kicker/punter. “I definitely think about it every game, how this may be the game where I’m put in the situation to win it. The pressure is there, but I try to block out the pressure and focus on making the field goal.”
