A Hopi Police Officer Is Recovering After Being Shot During A Traffic Stop
A Hopi Law Enforcement Services officer is recovering after being shot during a traffic stop in First Mesa on Wednesday. Authorities say officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop at around 4 p.m. Other units arrived and two suspects were taken into custody, but one remained at large for several hours. During the stop, shots were fired on the officers injuring an officer. The officer suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital, while the another officer was uninjured. At around 8:31 p.m. the third suspect was arrested around two miles away in a residential area. The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
