Arbaaz Merchant, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs-on-cruise case on October 3, was released from the Arthur Road prison in central Mumbai on Sunday, three days after he was granted bail by the Bombay High Court.

Citing the reason behind the delay in the release of Aryan Khan from the Arthur Road jail, senior advocate Aslam Merchant shared that it happened as the paperwork got delayed at sessions court and couldn’t be submitted within the time frame.   

A special NDPS court ruled that, aside from WhatsApp chats, there is no other evidence that Aachit Kumar supplied drugs to Aryan Khan.

Out of the 20 accused in the case, the Special NDPS Court has granted bail to 9 accused on Saturday after the Bombay High Court granted bail to 3 accused including the prime accused Aryan Khan.

Aryan Khan's co-accused in the drugs-on-cruise case, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmum Dhamecha, who were granted bail by Bombay HC , will not be released from jail today.

Fourteen out of 20 individuals arrested by the NCB during the October 2 raid have been granted bail. Actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan was among those held on drug charges.

Two days after the Bombay High Court granted bail to Aryan Khan and two others in the Cordelia cruise drugs case, the special court on Saturday granted bail to nine of their co-accused.

Earlier, the NDPS court had denied bail to Aryan Khan. However, the Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to him and his two co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha.

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan thronged in larger numbers outside the actors bungalow, Mannat, celebrating with music, dance and firecrackers.
